A friend of mine was a part of the start-up team, a new Izakaya restaurant in Chinatown has opened its door on the 6th. Until Tuesday this week, everything is half price for customers with booking.
We went down there yesterday to give our congrats for them. They incorporated the first automated touch-screen ordering system in Australia that you’ll find at alot of Izakaya places in Tokyo. We ordered… well really countless amount of food and booze. Deep fried chicken, deep fried soft shell crabs, yakitori, salad, sushi, spicy chicken wings, dumplings, chicken wings, beef carpaccio, Wagyu beef steaks, eel skews, lobster sashimi that was sort of alive when served, baked Hokki fish, oven baked scallops, potato&corn gratin, etc etc.

They have a quite big selection of cheap cocktails as well, but you have to try a bottle of “Iichiko Yuzu Shochu”. It’s rare to find this bottle in Sydney. (Now I know Busshari offers one.)
We ended up spending about $600 for 8. But hey, it’s half price tonight! Total $300 – $37.50 each is a great deal considering how much we ate and drunk!
Check out this place for a fun Izakaya night. But make sure to book a table for the limited half price opening campaign deal. (IT’S REQUIRED TO book a table for this.)
